Paphiopedilums, the Ladys-Slipper's orchids, originate in the jungles of the far east including Indonisia. They are semi-terrestial, growing in humus and other material on the forest floor, on cliffs in pockets of humus, and occasionally on trees. They are easy to grow in a sunny window, under lights, or in the greenhouse.
